Post Quilt Market

So I know it’s a been a couple weeks since Fall Quilt Market, but I just wanted to share with you some of the activities I was able to partake in.  This last Quilt Market I had a LOT going on.  It was so much fun!  I did my very first Schoolhouse, which is a half hour presentation about my book and did a video tutorial on two of my Sew A Modern Home projects, the Starburst pillow and the dining room napkin, for Brewer, which will be up on YouTube in the next month or so. I also did two book signs, one at Martingale’s booth and one at Birch Fabric’s booth. It was really amazing to meet so many amazing people and to get to show off my book. I also had a chance to walk the show and to meet some super inspirational people, including Weeks Ringle, whose book, The Modern Quilt Workshop, was one of the first quilting books I ever bought.  {squeal!}

Another exciting development was when Lucky Spool debuted a new book, Scraps, Inc., that is being released this month. I am so proud to be a contributor to this awesome collection of quilts. Here is a picture of my quilt (on the left) on display at the Lucky Spool booth.

I also went to Sample Spree for the first time. For those of you who haven’t heard of Sample Spree, it is an shopping event at Quilt Market where vendors sell pre-cuts and other sewing items to the attendees, usually way before they are available in stores. I scored some amazing Hello Kitty fabric and some gorgeous Japanese prints. My hope is to make a new Hello Kitty quilt for Lila for a Christmas present and a new quilt for my new bed too. I will keep you posted with pictures and my new designs.

It was so fun meeting new people at my book signings!  Thank you to all who came out!

See you soon!
